Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the sweetheart of America after she won American Idol in the first season. It was not just the win that catapulted Kelly Clarkson to fame and fortune, but it also secured her a deal in partnership with RCA Records 19 Recordings & 'S Records for a number of albums. In the years since her debut, she released numerous albums. Three of those albums made it to the top of the US Billboard 200. The other albums were also near the top. She has been one of American Idol's most successful performers. She experimented as she gained success with diverse musical and theme styles, often writing songs of her own. Due to her uniqueness and skill as a singer, she was praised by critics and won a few important awards. She's been honored with an award called the Grammy Award 3 times.
