Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. She became an author for a conservative newspaper after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform to voice opinions with a critique of current politics. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their opinions about politics and culture. Arianna's celebrity status began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote to replace Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of the Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes identified her as the top woman in media in 2009. She ranked in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as president of the media group, which also included the other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her entire life. In her earliest years she showed leadership abilities that remain highly respected.
