April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball stars who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time in Tokyo's Olympics, will try to earn her third medal. Ross is also hoping to win her first Olympic gold. As she is 39, it may be her last chance. However, she is convinced of winning top awards. If we play our best or even if we perform well, I think we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Also, I am going to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross was born in California in the city of Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area with her mother, father and younger sister. She was able to participate in many sports at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. While she did well in indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her skills were above normal. As per her biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) as well as a setting (outside blocker). In recognition of her accomplishments she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. The year 2000 was the time she won her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been doing what they do from 2017. But, Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. As a matter of fact Ross has been a winner of several significant tournaments during her time with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. From 2007 to 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Together with Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international circuit winning an international title in 2009. This duo went through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team as well as Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor when she retired. They both went on to take home the bronze beach volleyball medal in the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC in her college years before becoming a professional. Ross had an impressive run during her time in the college. The year 2000 was her freshman year. earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and be an All-American. She was also one of the key players in helping the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. In her last two seasons in the program she led the Trojans towards the summit winning three consecutive championships at the national level. Ross was an excellent volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a major in international relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001. Ross was an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie has been an inspiration both in her personal life and at the beaches.
