Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role she received the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second youngest winner in Oscar the history of Oscars. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded the Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the empathetic and curious character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the award. In response to an open audition call and was selected for the part, she was cast as Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish piano player who moves from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. She was only nine and had no acting experience. At the age of a teen, her family moved from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin made her debut when she was a kid, with the character in the Jane Eyre protagonist in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre as well as she played a significant role in Fly Away Home. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the Spanish queen in a less prominent role. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she portrayed the teen groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
