Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modelling professional career in Italy. Her first role as an actor was in the 1996 TV production Her Costly Affair. From there to starring as a supporting character in the film Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting since model actors aren't generally considered good actors. Models are often only given minor roles that aren't important. Amy did her best to get noticed and eventually she was offered bigger parts beginning in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her play more prominent role. Amy was recognized after more than ten years trying. Then she went on to work in several of the most famous movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless with Jason Statham, in which she played a recognizable character.
